Families and artists

Connect us with talented individuals with disabilities who would like to explore and share their artistic abilities, or with a child who needs education and family support.

Write to us with a few lines about the person, what they like doing, and anything we should know to make a session work for them. We reply within two working days.

Volunteers

Passionate people to help with events, marketing, art coaching, administration and community outreach. Useful right now:

  • Artists and art teachers who can run or assist a workshop
  • ASL interpreters, tutors, speech and audiology professionals
  • Anyone who has hung a show, or knows a venue that would host one
  • Photographers, to document artwork properly for sale online
  • Grant writing, bookkeeping and translation, including Arabic and Spanish

Local businesses, libraries, community centers, galleries, schools and organizations interested in hosting exhibitions or supporting the mission.

Give

Donations and grants are our main source of funding. Art sales pay the artists, and school services cover part of their own cost, but the programs on this site run on what supporters give.

    Paint, canvas, clay, easels, framing, adaptive tools, hearing technology, a room for a workshop, or a wall for a show.

    Offer a donation in kind

Advance Virginia is a nonprofit, non-stock corporation incorporated in Virginia. Our federal tax-exempt status is being established and we will publish the determination here as soon as it is issued. Until then, please check with your tax advisor before treating a gift as deductible.
