Art program

Create. Exhibit. Sell.

Three stages, and each one is built to lead into the next.

We are in our founding phase. Workshops and exhibitions are being set up now across Fairfax County. To be part of the first round, tell us and we will keep you on the list.

  1. Rows of brightly colored pastel sticks laid side by side

    Create

Supported workshops where artists make paintings, crafts and designs. We supply the materials, adapt tools and seating where they need adapting, and pair each artist with a mentor who knows the medium.

Sign language interpreting is available at every session. There is no entry test and no requirement to already be good at something.

  2. A person hanging framed artwork on a bright gallery wall

    Exhibit

Pop-up exhibitions in libraries, community centers and other public venues around Fairfax County, with the artist's name beside every piece.

Public venues matter. A show inside a day center is seen by the people already there. A show in a library is seen by everyone who came in to borrow a book.

  3. A market stall filled with colorful handmade goods for sale

    Sell

Visitors buy work at the exhibition or online. The artist is paid for what they made. What remains funds materials, framing and the next round of workshops.

We will publish the exact revenue split before the first sale, and it will not change quietly afterwards.

Who the art program is for

Deaf and hard of hearing artists

Where our expertise runs deepest. Interpreting and captioning are provided as standard, not on request.

Artists with any other disability

Physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental, or a mental health condition. Adults and young people both.

Families and carers

If someone you care for makes things, or used to, or has never been handed the materials, we would like to hear about them.

Venues, buyers and collectors

Wall space, foot traffic, or an interest in owning original work and knowing the money reached the person who made it.
